Changes at Kather Augenstein
At the beginning of 2019, our partner Miriam Kiefer took over the position of Managing Partner of Kather Augenstein. It replaces founding partner Dr Christof Augenstein, who in the first three years set the strategic course for Kather Augenstein’s team to establish itself at the top of the IP market. Miriam Kiefer was responsible for Human Resources for the first three years – with great success. Launched in 2016 with 5 partners and 2 associates, the firm now comprises a team of 13 lawyers consisting of 6 partners, 6 associates and 1 of counsel.
One of the strategic challenges for Miriam Kiefer is to further increase the level of awareness of the firm in an increasingly international environment, like for example the unified patent court (UPC), in order to stay at the top of the IP- market.
The foundation for further growth has already been laid. On 01 April 2019 Kather Augenstein is going to move into new office spaces at Bahnstraße 16 in Düsseldorf.
We are looking forward to a new year full of opportunities and wish Miriam Kiefer a good start in her new position as Managing Partner.
On Friday, 29 March, the next UNION-IP Praxisgespräch will take place at the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice in Munich. This time the topic will be the auxillary claims in case of infringement of industrial property rights.
