Great News: “IAM Patent 1000” ranks Kather Augenstein as one of the leading IP law firms in patent litigation (infringement) in 2021

“IAM Patent 1000”, the world’s leading industry guide for patent attorneys, has now published its 2021 ranking. Once again, our firm is among the world’s elite of best patent experts and is recommended by the IAM jury in the field of patent litigation infringement. In addition, all five partners are highlighted for their expertise in this year’s edition.

In the guide, Kather Augenstein is described as “a german litigation boutique that has already developed a strong offering in a short time which rivals that of its international competitors and is attracting some of the highest-profile contentious instructions on the market. The 12-person team delivers precise, creative and prompt work of the highest caliber to icons from a wide range of industries.”

The guide further analyses the firm’s two name partners, Dr Peter Kather and Dr Christof Augenstein: “Kather, a technically well-versed litigator, has spent more than three decades skillfully coordinating cross-industry, cross-border disputes, and as a result has an almost unparalleled procedural knowledge.” Augenstein “anticipates the opponent’s moves – and even the judges’ thinking and decision-making – effectively communicates technical arguments to the court, dismantles the opponent’s arguments, and argues his client’s case brilliantly and forcefully.”

Co-founder and managing partner Miriam Kiefer has appeared in more than 100 patent cases and is recommended for her “legal and strategic acumen, pleasant demeanor and availability.” Christopher Weber is another outstanding litigator and SEP expert who is “well-organized and reliable, facilitates productive collaboration, and works tirelessly for his clients.” Sören Dahm, who was included in the IAM Patent 1000 for the first time this year due to excellent market feedback, also spent some months as a secondment at a leading UK IP litigation boutique and therefore has “an excellent understanding of the specifics of both English and German patent law.”

“After this year’s nominations by IP Stars, the top rankings of Legal 500 and Best Lawyers by Handelsblatt, this is another award in 2021 that we and the entire team are extremely pleased about”, adds Miriam Kiefer, Managing Partner, Kather Augenstein.

IAM Patent 1000 is a stand-alone publication that highlights the particular expertise of individuals and firms in all major areas of patent law. Through an extensive research process conducted by a team of highly qualified, full-time analysts, the publication identifies the leading patent attorneys and law firms active in the field worldwide.
