Dr Katharina Brandt
Lawyer
Vita
My name is Katharina Brandt. I am a German-qualified attorney with a particular focus on the enforcement and defense of patent rights in national and international proceedings. A key aspect of my practice is representing companies before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) in patent disputes.
I advise and represent clients from a wide range of industries in complex infringement and revocation proceedings. One of my areas of expertise lies in the field of medical technology. In addition, I advise companies from all technology sectors on all matters of patent law.
Since my admission to the bar in 2021, I have been part of the highly specialized team at Kather Augenstein. I have been gaining extensive practical experience with the firm since 2016 as a research assistant.
My legal studies and doctorate in patent law at the University of Münster laid the foundation for my specialization and, together with my daily work in national and cross-border patent litigation, form the basis of my legal expertise.
In addition to my work as a litigator, I regularly publish in professional journals and give lectures on current issues in patent law. I am an active member of several professional associations in the field of intellectual property law. In particular, I greatly value the exchange and collaboration fostered by the association women in ip e.V., which promotes the professional development and networking of women in IP.
